Welcome to Latymer Upper School
Situated on the banks of the Thames in West London, it is one of the country's leading fully co-educational schools for 1200 children aged 11 - 18 years. The School focuses on both the academic achievement and the personal development of each and every pupil into well-rounded and caring citizens.
Latymer is modern and forward-thinking, respects diversity and there is a palpable 'buzz' as busy and talented people combine the highest academic achievement with excellence in the arts and sport. The school is one of the national leaders in the provision of means-tested bursaries, thanks to the generosity of our many donors, and this reflects its origins in the philanthropy of Edward Latymer. All this makes our fully co-educational community friendly and unpretentious, with a liberal respect for individuality.
The first pupils were admitted to the School in 1627, however, the foundation year is traditionally given as 1624, the year Edward Latymer wrote the will which provided for the education of eight boys of Hammersmith.
