We provide specialist debt advice and advocacy for people living in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. As a registered charity, there is no charge for our assistance.
As well as debt advice services we offer financial capability support, energy advice and training. We are also lead agency for one of 16 national partnership delivering advice as part of the Face 2 Face initiative. Our partnership consists of 8 advice agencies providing free face to face debt advice to some of the most deprived communities in the UK, tackling financial exclusion as the most successful component of the governments over-indebtedness strategy.
Bristol Debt Advice Centre was registered as a charity in December 1989 and was originally a response by a group of legal professionals in Bristol to the growing debt crisis facing so many in the city. Support is received from a whole range of statutory and non-statutory sources and as a major provider of money advice in the region, we seek to play our part in making available free, independent, confidential and professional advice to people in debt.
